Musical Marathon

Rainy days make me want to just stay in bed, cuddle up with my dogs and have one of my dvd marathons. Today I chose to do a musical review. First up was Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory (the original 1971 flick). Adapted from what is probably Roald Dahl's most popular book, this was definitely a fun way to start. The movie was as enjoyable a romp as when I first saw it many, many years ago. Gene Wilder was most definitely at his best. Here's one of my favorite scenes:


Although I didn't find fault with the new version starring Johnny Depp, Charlie Bucket and the other characters were more alive for me in the original. Maybe because it had musical numbers? Hahaha! Next, I went through Oliver! My Fair Lady, Wizard Of Oz, Brigadoon, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers and now their songs keep playing over and over in my head! Methinks tomorrow warrants a Part Deux...
