Hong Kong Special
I'm baaack! The trip to Hong Kong went very well. Contrary to expectations, the training was enjoyable. Although the course was intense, having this particular bunch of people around made it a fun learning experience. All of them spoke Chinese and only Y.W. from Korea and myself were at a loss whenever they lapsed into their native tongue. They tried to interpret their conversations and speak in English as best as they could and we really appreciated their efforts. By the end of the session, it felt almost as though we'd been friends for a long time.On the last day of training, my colleagues and I took the MTR to Wan Chai and Mong Kok. Even rode the ferry to Kowloon side to see the sights and have dinner. I was billeted at The Parklane Hotel in Causeway Bay. I absolutely loved my room - especially the bathroom. Also had my very own cd player to lull me to sleep.
This is the view I got to wake up to each morning. Pigeons would come visit my window and dawdle as the rains kept pouring. Made going down for breakfast such a shame.
Wasn't really able to go around as much since it was raining hard during most of my stay. Did get the chance to rediscover the excitement of taking the tram up to view the grandeur of Victoria Peak at night, though, with my friends Bernie (from the Philippines) and Jenny (from China).
Despite the bad weather Friday night, Bernie and I couldn't resist HK's infamous red-light district, Lan Kwai Fong. It was there that we got into party mode and really let loose. I was surprised that in almost every bar we hit, there were Filipino waiters and musicians. That worked to our advantage as we got primo seats courtesy of our kababayans.
This trip would, of course, not be complete without picking up a frog item or two to add to my collection. Check out what I got at Central's Harbour City Mall.
My only regret is that I wasn't able to do real shopping. Imagine being in HK during sale season and not having the time to browse around the shops and night markets! No Ocean Park, no Disney. Aaargh! Oh well, maybe next time...

Sounds like a great trip. And you can tell from the pictures! Awesome.
