Love And Marriage
Love and marriage, love and marriage
Go together like a horse and carriage
This I tell you brother
You can't have one without the other.
Love and marriage, love and marriage
It's an institute you can't disparage
Ask the local gentry
And they will say it's elementary.
Try, try, try to separate them
It's an illusion
Try, try, try, and you will only come
To this conclusion.
Love and marriage, love and marriage
Go together like a horse and carriage
Dad was told by mother
You can't have one without the other.
Go together like a horse and carriage
This I tell you brother
You can't have one without the other.
Love and marriage, love and marriage
It's an institute you can't disparage
Ask the local gentry
And they will say it's elementary.
Try, try, try to separate them
It's an illusion
Try, try, try, and you will only come
To this conclusion.
Love and marriage, love and marriage
Go together like a horse and carriage
Dad was told by mother
You can't have one without the other.
So goes one of my favorite songs by Frank Sinatra (this one was written by the team of Cahn & Van Heusen). There's nothing like a wedding to make you feel that all is right in the world.
I excused myself from hospital duty last night to attend my officemate Cookie's wedding. The wedding ceremony was held at Sanctuario de San Antonio in Forbes with the reception immediately following at the Officer's Clubhouse at the Fort. It was a beautiful event. Made all the more special because the bride had asked me to take part in it. I was one of the readers and in so doing, Joni (the other reader) and I inadvertently got the best seats in the house.
We saw how Mike wiped tears from his eyes when he glimpsed Cookie heading down the aisle, and again when they were made to kneel before the priest. Every glance, every whisper, every nuance conveyed the deep love they felt for each other. They had been sweethearts since high school and here they were pledging to love each other for all eternity. Sigh. I am such a romantic, huh? Wonder when it'll happen to me? If it ever does happen...
Here for your enjoyment are some of the photos Sherry and I took. As always, any event would never be complete without gratuituous pics of myself and my friends! Especially since this was the first time I saw a lot of them wearing formal gowns! Hahaha!!!
BTW, it's a holiday today in honor of Labor Day. Crappy thing is, since I had to go on personal leave last Friday, I will have to go to work later to get my service review packages ready for tomorrow. Aaaargh!!!
