The Anwers To Anything Under The Sun - Limited Edition
Whew! Thought I'd just have a couple of responses to this post. Now I know what "be careful what you wish for" means - hahaha. After about two hours of typing, deleting, retyping, linking sites, editing, and proofreading, here at last are the eagerly anticipated (ha!) answers to those questions.
From Mrs. Aginoth:
1. What's your favourite place?
My favorite place would be a bookstore. Any bookstore. You can leave me there, come back a few hours later and find me at the same spot you left me at, sitting comfortably, poring over the book that caught my eye. A record store would run a close second.
2. Dinner & a movie, or Pizza & a club?
Dinner and a movie. Not much of a clubber. Probably as a result of being severely chastised by my father when I came home at 6 o'clock in the morning from club-hopping with friends.
From Sophie:
1. What made you select the frog theme?
I have loved Kermit the Frog from sight. Sesame Street was a staple during my formative years and my love of Jim Henson's many creatures came to center on the little green muppet who was his masterpiece. From there my fascination grew to extend to other well-reknowned froggies. Since I am an avid collector, it was but natural for me to choose this as the theme for my blog. Used to have the song Rainbow Collection streaming through but alas, it tended to slow down my site so it had to go.
2. If you had to lose your hearing or your sight, which would you choose and why?
The lesser evil - my hearing. It would be devastating to lose either one but at least you are not as helpless when you can see.
From Ivory Frog:
1) Favourite movie of all time? and why?
The Princess Bride hands down. It's one movie that anyone, regardless of age, will truly enjoy. Having already read the book, it was a thrill to actually see it on film. The casting was perfect and the script truly captured the cleverness of the story. To this day, my siblings and I spout off scenes at the drop of a hat - "My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father, prepare to die." and "Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something." are classic lines.
2) Favourite "me time" activity - what do you do to relax?
Aside from reading, watching films and listening to music, I like going to the spa to have either a foot spa or massage. It helps to relieve all the tension and stress from the work week.
From Utenzi:
1. How many countries have you lived in or visited?
Just two (so far) - HongKong and the United States. For the latter, was only able to go to LA and New York. Was going to go to Vegas, too, but bad weather prevented that trip. Oh well, there's always next time.
2. Does seeing a fly ever make you hungry?
Can't say that it has. You'll be the first one I'll advise if ever that happens. Then on to a shrink!
From Donnay:
1. Are you a morning person or a night owl?
I'm more of a night owl. I find that my best time to read, write, study, think, even party, is during the wee hours of the morning (just like now).
2. How often do you clean your toilets? (You said to keep it clean).
I appreciate the gesture. :) I try to have a clean bathroom at least once a week - emphasis on the try.
From The Bec Half Of Glamorouse:
1. Do you read a daily newspaper?
Yes, I do - from cover to cover. We subscribe to two national papers daily and I really try to read everything (even the obits). I find reading the news so different from watching them on television. Some people find it depressing. I don't.
2. Do you love live frogs too?
Well, I wouldn't actually like to have one as a pet, let alone kiss one. I love collecting frog stuff. Maybe it's the princess in me trying to get out - hahaha!
From Mar:
1. How many languages do you speak?
I speak Filipino, English, Ilonggo (local Visayan dialect), and a smattering of Spanish.
2. What's your favorite music?
I love pop/rock, musicals/broadway, jazz, almost everything except for country, heavy metal and new age.
3. When do we expect an answer to our questions?? ;D
Ngayon! Now! Subong! Ahora!
From Steven:
1. What do you love about the Philippines?
So many little and big things it'll take hours! Here are just 100 reasons.
2. What are your religous beliefs? (kind of big one, I know).
I was born, raised and am a practicing Roman Catholic. 12 years of being taught by nuns is no joke. Don't see a reason to convert to another religion as of right now.
From Michelle Pessoa:
1. What did you once find frightening that no longer scares you?
Butterflies. I took all those scary stories about butterflies being messengers heralding the death of a loved one to heart as a child. So each time I would see one, I would freak out because I thought it would mean someone in my immediate family would die. Good thing am over it now. Not to mention that Jennie would cut me off as a friend if I feared her symbol...hehehe.
2. What do you take pride in?
I take pride in my country, of the fact that I have a loving family, good friends, faith in God, a degree, a good job and relative freedom to do what I want - things which a lot of people take for granted.
From Chrixean:
1. What's the history of your love of frogs?
Began as far back as Sesame Street. Kermit had always been my favorite. His innocence and his way of always seeing things with wide-eyed wonder and with faith in everyone's innate goodness amidst a very cynical world was so endearing.
2. Do you have plans of ever finding a new job?
Not at the moment although my resume is floating around in several companies already. If I find the perfect opportunity, all systems go.
From Tommy:
1. So there are only 7 books in the discworld series?
I believe last count was at 28. Could only afford to buy the first seven. Will have to save up for the rest.
2. Where did you get your list?
A friend hooked on Terry Pratchett recommended him. Got to read Good Omens first (the novel he co-wrote with Neil Gaiman) and found it entertaining to say the least.
From Aginoth:
1. Science Fiction or Chick Flick?
Since there is a derth of really good sci-fi movies nowadays, I would probably go for the chick flick. Hey, I'm a chick, so it's a no-brainer! :)
2. How much woo could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
Woo or wood? Gee, I have no idea. I'll have to look it up and get back to you later. :)
From Janet:
1. What's your favorite drink?
Iced tea. And lemonade. Sissy drinks, I know. But I find them so refreshing!
2. What's your favorite movie?
Princess Bride as explained to Ivory Frog above.
And finally from Keb:
1. What is woo?
It is a verb that means to sue for the affection of and usually marriage with/court, to solicit or entreat especially with importunity, to seek to gain or bring about. Gotcha! *wink**wink*
2. If you could do/have this one thing, each week to make life better, what would that thing be?
That's a toughie. Well, if I had the power and the means, I would probably decree that for one day each week, everyone can eat anywhere free of charge. Bad business sense, yes, but less people will go hungry resulting in a happier world.
Yahoo! I finally finished! Thanks to everyone who participated. Hope you were satisfied with my answers.
As an aside, know that adage when it rains, it pours? Well in my case, it really does apply. Just learned that dear Charles of Bend It Like A Banana has just put me on spotlight in his blog. I feel so like Balki of Perfect Strangers now, ready to do my dance of joy. Hahaha!
