Naming Game
I have long been fascinated with name etymology and how often the name of a person reflects his/her personality. How many times have you met someone for the first time and immediately thought, "His/her name really suits him/her"? Some books even suggest that your name may even determine your lot in life. This makes it a very daunting task for new parents. Who would want their kid saddled with a name which'll make them the butt of jokes sometime in the future?
My name, Mary Ann, is a combination name like most others. Its' derivation is French (combining Marie and Anne). Marie is the French version of the English name Mary and Anne is the French version of the Hebrew name Hanna. Check out these results:
Kabbalistic Synopsis:
Mary Ann's life seems to be beset by a series of traumatic events. Her name value reduces to sixteen, which is the number of the Tower card in tarot and represents catastrophic life events. However, these events are fated, and ultimately are for the benefit of the individual who has to endure them. So although she may have a tough time of it in early adulthood, her experiences will prove to be invaluable to her in later life. One thing she doesn't need to learn is the importance of hard work and commitment. She is an immensely diligent worker and is always willing to stay late or work at home in order to get the job done. This commitment to her career, which may well be in the field of communications, will guarantee her success and promotion in the long run; all the late nights will have been worth it. Emotionally, she has a tendency to shy away from serious relationships because she has a fear of rejection. A very emotionally giving woman, she simply needs a partner who is prepared to give her sufficient reassurrance that the relationship will last.
My Comment:
Eerily true for the most part. (Just hope my bosses take the hint.) Lol.
Runic Interpretation:
Mary Ann can return anyone's serve with power and precision. For every problem, the double Nauthiz runes of constraint lob her way, she grows ever stronger. Life is unpredictable and the floor collapses out from under her at times, but she always lands on her feet. She uses the Isa rune of standstill to think and formulate her opinions in an articulate and clear fashion. She agrees that the unexamined life is not worth living, and her capacity for self-examination helps her stay balanced and ride the winds of change. She has the four elements blessing her name.
My Comment:
Once more, strangely true.
Numerological Interpretation:
Mary Ann is a woman who values life experiences. In fact, she is a collector of them. Her wide social resources give her ample opportunity to move out into the world to learn, share, seek, and find. Her friendships are many, as she is curious about people and lifestyles other than her own. This expansive nature is complimented by an introspective and contemplative facet to her personality. After a period of social interchange, she will pull back and retreat into her own space. She will then assess and analyze her experiences in order to understand the deeper meanings of these encounters and situations.
My Comment:
Bingo. Again.
On the other end of the spectrum, it is also interesting to know how one's name will translate into other languages. Samples of mine are:
